The Forum was initiated by World Public Forum “Dialogue of Civilizations” (WPFDC) in 2009 on the 7th Annual Session of the Rhodes Forum (www.rhodesforum.org) as an institution aimed to involve the modern youth in the analysis of the global dialogue of civilizations agenda and to develop prospective strategies for the harmonious progress of the humanity.
The second session of the Rhodes Youth Forum will take place from October 10 to 14, 2011 on the Island of Rhodes (Greece). The participants of the session consist of more than 150 socially active young people from 50 countries around the world. The central theme of the meeting is range of possibilities for the future of young people. In 2010, the first Youth Forum proposed a structure which would support the activities of the Rhodes Youth community on a permanent basis. This decision became a reality on 11 December 2010, in Prague. Representatives of youth from different countries have established an international youth movement, Youth Time, a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political association of young people.
